The Birth of a Legend: 1961-1964

In August 1961, legendary comic book creators Stan Lee and Jack Kirby introduced the world to the Fantastic Four in the pages of Marvel's Fantastic Four #1. The team consisted of four astronauts: Reed Richards (Mr. Fantastic),Sue Storm (Invisible Woman),Johnny Storm (Human Torch),and Ben Grimm (The Thing).

During their fateful mission into space, the astronauts encountered a cosmic storm, bombarding them with cosmic rays that altered their genetic structures. Upon returning to Earth, they discovered they had gained extraordinary abilities.

Reed Richards became Mr. Fantastic, with the power to stretch and reshape his body. Sue Storm transformed into the Invisible Woman, capable of becoming invisible and projecting force fields. Johnny Storm became the Human Torch, engulfed in flames and able to fly. Ben Grimm, tragically, transformed into the grotesque Thing, with immense strength and a rocky exterior.
